Dark saddened eyes, blurring with tears.
Painful scars borne; Love's history.
Futures crumble when doubt appears.
No brightly lit hope envisioned,
When following after harsh words.
Hurt soul splits in twain, partitioned.
Swooned by appeal - when numbness lured.
Apologies made, never bought.
Price paid turned out far too costly.
Though never known what would be wrought -
Must walk into the night softly.
One wish, only to be released.
Granted - now receive this token.
Words written in rhyme, love's deceased.
When promises made . . . were broken.
1. To be able to easily express our thoughts
Rebuttal: Why express thoughts? we can always just say anything we want to say. What can debate do if we do not want to express our thoughts? Besides expressing thoughts are not that easy. Just to be able to express thought we will be undergoing too many stages. Like we should be prepared and trust the audience. Something like that..In debate they can not force someone to express their thoughts. This is a free country. =D
2. To be able to learn how to argue.
Rebuttal: Arguing is not good. So why argue? it can lead us to conflict with other people and ruin other relationships. We should respect the opinion of other people. Just agree with them and share your opinion and not argue. If you want others to respect you..respect them first. BIG NO NO TO ARGUE.. =S
3. To share our ideas on a certain topic.
Rebuttal: If we are going to share our ideas about a certain topic it is like tempting others to plagiarism. If we share our ideas with our team mates they might get our idea and own that certain idea. All we can say is that sharing ideas is unfair for the one who think of it... duh?!? Where are their originalities? They must think and not depend on other else ideas.
4. To develop critical thinking.
Rebuttal: How will you consider developing critical thinking in debate? What we usually do is get ideas from medias, books, magazine, etc. Where is critical thinking there? Critical thinking is something that really comes from you. Why not study Philosophy and learn what is the true meaning of critical thinking.
5. To discover the advantages and disadvantages of a certain matter.
Rebuttal: Discover advantages and disadvantages? or its making us more confuse about a certain topic. What do we care about the disadvantages? when all we need to know is it's advantages. Is more pleasing to hear all the advantages than listening to disadvantages that will just change our own perception on a certain matter
6. To learn how to work on a limited time.
Rebuttal: Why debate if we know it will just pressure us? Why work with limited time if we can use all the time in the world? are we thinking? or we just want ourselves to be stress out? Working on limited time can also ruin our work there are chances that we can not perfect our work. In debate we can not think properly when we are working on a limited time. It just pressuring us, in that case we will not able to present a good speech.. hmpf
7. To understand current issues
Rebuttal: Why are we going to watch debate and confuse ourselves because of the arguments they are having? if we want to understand the current issue, why not open a television set, read a news paper or listen to the radio. While in debate there would be a chances for you to be irritated because of looking on their faces and listening to their irritating voices.
